Since it’s inception, North Point has been an Assemblies of God Church.

Since it’s inception, North Point has been governed by a Board of Directors.

  • Provide oversight of mission, finances and Lead Pastor

Since it’s inception, North Point has been Board covered and Pastor led.

  • Lead Pastor provides oversight of staff mission and character in conjunction with directional leadership team (staff) as they navigate the details of the annual budget approved by the NPC board.

2003 - 4 board members (including the Lead Pastor as President) 

2012 - 5 board members (including the Lead Pastor as President)

  • Term limits instituted.  3 year terms, up to 2 successive terms for non-Lead Pastor board members

2014 - 7 board members (including the Lead Pastor as President)

How does the Board operate?

Each Board member (outside of Lead Pastor) serves a 3 year term, with the potential of serving 2 successive terms. When a vacancy arises for the board, the NPC Board nominates names. After the nominated list is vetted based on involvement (serving at a campus) and investment (participation of giving is required, amount of giving is not measured) - the list of vetted potential Board Members is presented as those who are serving and investing in the mission of North Point. The NPC Board then affirms this list and establishes an “order of contact” from this list until the vacancy(ies) is (are) filled. 
The NPC Board meets in person 4 times a year, and has the ability to have additional “electronic/video” meetings. In addition, the NPC Board has monthly reports presented which include financials and ministry impact.

NPC Board provides direction/correction for Lead Pastor, including salary decisions. They vote on the Annual budget while overseeing progress monthly.

Lead Pastor provides direction/correction for staff, including salary suggestions for approval (apart from their own).
