North Point Internship is an opportunity for you to dedicate a season of your life to the local church.

It is an opportunity to experience a strategic, fast paced ministry environment that will prepare you with skills and habits you can take with you. The purpose of this internship is to obey Jesus’ command to make disciples who in turn make disciples. North Point Interns will choose one ministry area (i.e. groups, children, operations, production). They will specifically focus their ministry efforts during their internship and they will receive special training.

Interns will gain experience in the following areas:
Attend Leadership Trainings — make new discoveries in leadership development, spiritual growth, and ministry methods from members of the North Point team.
Participate in a small group, and then lead one!
Serve at weekend services.
Build community with others in your Intern class through weekly study, prayer, and reflection groups.
Be mentored by your ministry-focus department leader.
Attend leadership development events with the North Point team.
Intern only opportunities to connect and observe other growing ministries.
North Point Internship is a training ground for emerging leaders. During your intern year, you will accumulate valuable experience, mentors, and knowledge that will prepare you for stepping into the next phase of your God-given calling.

We don’t have an ideal age, just an ideal attitude. We are constantly searching for self-starters, quick learners, people who love a challenge, and those with a heart to serve.
Each intern will focus on one of the following ministry areas: operations, production, children, students, etc.
The internship time commitment is all day Sundays and Mondays, and 8-12 hours flex time throughout the week. Every Sunday, interns should expect to help carry out various leadership roles within their designated department to pull off the weekend services. They are considered staff members, and are on the front lines of ministry during all Sunday services. Specific responsibilities will be determined by departmental supervisors. On Mondays, interns participate in leadership trainings, which consist of teachings and discussions from various members of North Point’s leadership team. In addition, interns participate in departmental meetings; spend time meeting one on one with their supervisor, and focus on carrying out various departmental responsibilities. Over time, interns will be responsible for taking the lead on projects and teams within their ministry area.
The internship will be administered by the leader of your ministry director. This staffer will serve as the primary leader for your internship experience. Interns will interact with our lead pastor, Jeremy Johnson, and other North Point staff members during weekly leadership trainings for teams. The intern team will also have a time each Monday to learn from different staff leaders.
Internship is a training and proving ground for emerging leaders. During your Internship year, you will accumulate valuable experience, mentors, and knowledge that will prepare you for stepping into the next phase of your God-given calling. Our desire is that your Internship year will give you the experience and training you need to take your next steps in living a life that matches your unique gifts with God’s specific purpose for your life.
Previous ministry and leadership experience is preferred and specific experience in the desired ministry focus area is certainly favored. We also look for people who have a clear sense of being called to serve others and dare to dream big dreams for the Kingdom of God. We also place a high value on attitude, flexibility, sense of humor, and the ability to work within a team environment.
This is a one year (3 trimester) commitment with new interns being accepted every trimester. Trimesters begin in January, May and September.
Complete the application and submit it. For priority consideration, submit your application at least 2 months prior to your desired starting trimester.
There is no cost to participate in the internship if accepted.
We do not currently have housing available for Interns. However, our staff will be available to give guidance on areas of the city that might provide affordable housing.
Your commitment will be Sundays and Mondays. Each intern will have 1 week of vacation (1 Sunday, 1 Monday) per trimester, plus an additional week off between each trimester.
Absolutely! It is our expectation that most, if not all, interns will secure outside employment. We ask, however, that ministry expectations and time requirements take precedent over outside work schedules on Sundays and Mondays.
You will be responsible for your own transportation.
Upon receiving your completed application, we will schedule phone interview(s) in order to get to know you better. Next, we will take some time and pray for God’s wisdom and direction. Within approximately a week after your phone interview(s), you will receive a response from North Point.
No. North Point’s internship is not the right place for everyone who applies, nor is everyone who applies right for North Point. We have a limited number of available internship spots each trimester.
It shows you who we are! We do nothing by accident, and that includes adding team members.
It shows us who you are.
